There are 27 museums operating in the region, especially remarkable Dadiani palace complex and the historical-architectural museum in Zugdidi, K. Gamsakhurdia Museum in Abasha, Svaneti History and Ethnography Museum in Mestia, Ethnographic Museum and M. Khergiani House Museum in Ushguli.

In the region there are 121 libraries, including 112 libraries - in villages.

There are several theaters in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti. Among them: in Zugdidi municipality - 2 (one state, one public) theater, in Poti - V. Gunia State Theater, Senaki - A. Khorava State Senaki State Drama Theater (theater building was granted status of cultural monument in 2008), Khobi - Khobi People's Theater. Each theater is functioning in Tsalenjikha and Chkhorotsku municipalities.

There are 10 cultural houses and 11 music schools, as well as agricultural clubs and art schools.
