The State Representative of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Alexander Motserelia , met French Ambassador to Georgia

 French Ambassador to Georgia Diego Colas, is on a working visit to Samegrelo.  Within the framework of the visit, the Ambassador met with the State Representative of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Alexander Motserelia.  The State Representative briefed the Ambassador on important and ongoing projects in the region. During the meeting, the sides discussed the issues of cooperation between Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti and French regions in the fields of economy, agrarian sector, culture and tourism.

Alexander Motserelia briefed the Ambassador on the measures taken to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Zugdidi Mayor Giorgi Shengelia and Sakrebulo Chairman Mamuka Tsotseria attended the meeting held at the State Administration.

The sides also discussed the situation in the occupied Abkhazia and the villages along the dividing line. Special  attention paid on the historical close ties between France and Georgia.

During the visit, the French Ambassador, together with the State Representative and the Mayor of Zugdidi, visited the Dadiani Palace and the renovated Botanical Garden.  Ambassador will also visit various sights of the region, meet with the non-governmental sector, metropolitans of Zugdidi-Tsaishi and Chkondidi, visit the family of Alain Murat and French language teachers.
