Georgian tea sector challenges and solution ways of them discussed in Zugdidi
At the meeting the State Representative of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Alexander Motserelia and tea producers discussed about Georgian tea sector challenges and solution ways of them. The meeting was attended by the representatives of Agricultural Research Center, entrepreneurs, field specialists and Georgian Tea Association.
The meeting discussed the issues of promoting local tea production and increasing export potential.
At this stage it is available to rehabilitate 1200 hectares of tea in both private and state-owned wilding tea plantations.
The Ministry of Environment and Agriculture has been implementing a tea plantation rehabilitation program since 2016, which purpose is to use effectively Georgian tea plantation potential and promoting local tea production.
