“ASB Georgia” granted the entrepreneurs with inventory and machinery.

International Organization “ASB Georgia” and Charity Humanitarian Center "Abkhazeti" funded by the Bureau of USA Population, Refugees, and Migration (BPRM) within the project "IDP and Hosting Community Economic Empowerment in Georgia" granted and handed over different instruments- machinery-equipment, tools, working tools, inventory and production facilities to winner beneficiaries for starting and developing economic activities.

A Hand-over Ceremony was attended by the Deputy of the State Representative of Samegrelo Zemo Svaneti Malkhaz Toria with Deputies of Zugdidi Mayor Giga Pharulava and Konstantine Kakava. "The financial benefits that you give to our citizens for the beginning of economic activity is very noteworthy, this is their support and possibility to have their own income.

The government has been funding various projects, within the component “Produce in Georgia, based on Startup Programs, as well as within different agriculture programs. All interested individuals can get this benefit from the government. It is very important that NGO sector is also participating in it and this particular project is evidence of this. Thank you again for your participation "-was declared in a statement made by Deputy of the State Representative of Samegrelo- Zemo Svaneti Malkhaz Toria who finally wished them all success.

About 100 IDPs and local entrepreneurs were involved in the project from Samegrelo region.Participants had applied for the Business ideas competition,Business plan preparation and social skills training.Eventually, the Grant Committee, comprising of organizations operating in Samegrelo, and the project managers approved 35 business ideas.The grant amount was between 1000-3000 USD.

It is a two-year project and in total 180 IDPs and local entrepreneurs will finally get a grant to start or develop a business. Citizens living in occupied Abkhazia are also allowed to participate in the project.
