Gasification works started in Tsalenjikha and Chkhorotsku
Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava along with the State Representative of Samegrelo Zemo-Svaneti Alexander Motserelia become acquainted with ongoing gasification works in Tsalenjikha and Chkhorotsku and met with local population. Both municipalities had never been gasified and local population had not been provided with natural gas. Georgian Gas Transportation Company carries out extensive gasification works in Tsalenjikha and Chkhorotsku. Within the framework of the project a high pressure 192m gas pipeline will be installed and the gas distribution station will be arranged in Tsalenjikha municipality. Upon completion of the project, 2897 gas consumers will be able to subscribe to natural gas network. Within 3-year plan, 13 villages are supposed to be gasified in Tsalenjikha municipality. The estimated number of subscribers is 10,327. The 86 m length high pressure gas pipeline will be installed inChkhorotsku municipality and the gas distribution plant will be arranged there. As a result of the aforesaid, 1609 subscribers will be able to use natural gas. In addition to this, 19 villages will be gasified in Chkhorotsku municipality as well, and the estimated number of subscribers is 8,969.
The State Minister and Tsalenjikha-Chkhorotsku majoritarian deputy along with the representatives of local government got acquainted with the gasification works. According to the Georgian government's gasification plan, 226 settlements will be gasified throughout Georgia among them 75 ones in Samegrelo with participation of Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development in 2019 – 2021;
210 million GEL will be spent on gasification project and construction works. After completion of the mentioned works, the number of gasified subscribers in Samegrelo will exceed 120,000.
