Rehabilitation of Zviad Gamsakhurdia Memorial Museum
The private house in the Village Khibula, where the first president of Georgia Zviad Gamsakhurdia spent the last days of his life is being under rehabilitation to rearrange and set up a memorial museum of Zviad Gamsakhurdia, which is funded and carried out by “Cartu” Foundation.
The working process was observed by the Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Ilia Begiashvili, the State Representative of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Alexander Motserelia, the deputy chairman of the Roads Department GiorgiTsereteli and the Director of “Cartu” foundation Nikoloz Chkhetiani.
“Rehabilitation of the residence where Zviad Gamsakhurdia had spent the last days of his life is rather consequential since it shows the respect towards Zviad Gamsakhurdia which is the duty of every Georgian citizen. Khibula is one of the stunning places of our region where number of interesting and important infrastructural projects are to be implemented - the State Representative Alexander Motserelia said.
A small garden is to be set up in the village, a temple to be constructed and village gas distribution network development is to process; Also water supply and road infrastructure is to arrange in the village Khibula.
The State Representative of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Alexander Motserelia announced about setting up a memorial museum of Zviad Gamsakhurdia's as far back as last year in autumn, during the meeting with the followers of the first president.
