Davit Sergeenko met with Representatives of Medical Field together with the Governor
Davit Sergeenko, Minister of IDPs, Labor, Health and Social Protection from the Occupied Territories of Georgia and Aleksandre Motserelia, Regional Governor of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti held a meeting with medical professionals in Zugdidi. The meeting started with the importance of building a multi-profile hospital in Rukhi. As the Minister noted, construction of 220-seat multifunctional University Hospital equipped with modern technologies is in active phase. After completion of construction, the clinic will serve the residents of Rukhi and adjacent villages, as well as from other regions and patients from Abkhazia.
The Minister also focused on the program of hepatitis C elimination. "Free screening under the Hepatitis C program, besides medical facilities, is also possible in the House of Justice. Any citizen may have other services in parallel to his / her own status in relation to hepatitis C. This is an unprecedented program throughout Georgia and it is important that Georgian people use this opportunity, -the Minister said at the meeting.
David Sergeenko also talked about the program of providing medicines for chronic diseases. According to him, the area of medicines for chronic diseases will be further expanded in the future and the population will receive medicines at a discounted price. At the end of the meeting the discussion was held. The meeting was attended by the Governor of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region - Alexander Motserelia, Deputies - Koba Kantaria, Nino Vibliani, First Deputy Mayor of Zugdidi Municipality - Giorgi Shengelia and Majoritarian MP of Zugdidi Merab Kvaraia.
The Minister visited "Evex" clinic in Senaki, Khobi, Poti and Zugdidi, where free medical examination for local population was conducted.
