The Governor got acquainted with the Infrastructural Problems in Poti

Governor of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Aleksandre Motserelia, his first deputy Irakli Jikia, representatives of the self-government of Poti Municipality and Omar Khukhuni, member of the public hall, visited the city all day and discussed the existing problems of Poti. Aleksandre Motserelia, along with the accompanying persons, inspected the building of Poti Hydro-Melioration Technique building, which is a cultural heritage monument. The Governor and the local authorities discussed the issue of granting important function to the building, taking into consideration its architecture and territorial location. They also studied the problem of Poti Sea Port and Surface Water Pumping Station, whose power is not able to cope with rainfall. The Governor also visited several islands of Poti. Aleksandre Motserelia and representatives of local Government discussed the idea of ​​tourism development at these locations. Governor talked about the necessity of rehabilitation of the coast of Poti and inspected the sea coast.

  "We have inspected the town districts, including cultural heritage monuments. In Poti, we do not have the sights and the smallest thing we have as a cultural heritage is unfortunately in poor condition. We also visited the area surrounding the lighthouse, which is intensively washed by the sea. In the nearest future, it will be obligatory to carry out coast protection measures. The lake of Paliastomi is also very disturbing and the agenda stands on its freshing.

We are familiar with the situation of the city streets, we visited the 14th garden which is in a poor condition, we talked to local residents who had problems with their residential buildings. We will come in a few days and we can meet with the population, our citizens, all the people who are concerned about the situation in the city and discuss specific issues together. Of course, first of all, we will start with solving the problems, that are acute nowadays. In addition, we will discuss those large-scale projects that will develop and promote Poti's development, improve its socio-economic conditions. From next week we will start consultations with relevant field specialists to solve these problems, "said Alexander Motserelia.
