Governor met the head of the EU Monitoring Mission
Governor of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Levan Shonia hosted Eric Hogg, head of the EU Monitoring Mission in Georgia. The meeting was introductory.
The Governor introduced the Head of the EU Mission current and planned infrastructural projects implemented near occupation line. Levan Shonia also provided Eric Hogg with information on the tourism potential, economics and agriculture of the region.
In turn, the head of the EU mission talked to the Governor about his mission and work specifics.
At the end of the meeting the sides agreed on future plans and mutual cooperation.
From 2013 to present day various infrastructural projects have been implemented in villages nearthe occupation line, total value of which amounted to 91 million GEL.
In 2018, road rehabilitation is planned in villages near the dividing line, in Tsalenjikha and Zugdidi municipalities. In Tsalenjikha municipality, tourism infrastructure will be arranged on Enguri Dam along the dividing line.
