Massive Cleaning Action held in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Region

A large cleaning action was held in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti municipalities on the Earth Day. The initiative belongs to the Governor of the region, Levan Shonia. Within the action, pre-selected locations - municipal entrances, tourist attractions and adjacent territories were cleared. Public officials, private sector representatives and volunteers participated in the cleaning action.

The largest cleaning campaign was held in Zugdidi Municipality, where about 1000 volunteers participated.  Construction and other wastes were cleaned in Skate Park, where special equipment was mobilized. Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Governor joined the action together with local Government representatives.

The massive cleaning action was also held in the Zugdidi Municipal Administrative units, where participants cleaned up rural centers and surrounding territories.

Cleaning activity is held annually in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Region to celebrate Earth Day.
