Workshop on waste management at Governor Office

At the office of the State-Representative Governor, the meeting was held with the subject of waste management. The meeting was attended by the head of regional projects’ coordination Service of the state Representative-Governor administration of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti –Nugzar Gabelia, deputies of the mayors of the municipalities and Cleaning Service representatives.

The subject of the discussion was ‘’Waste Management in Georgia, legislative requirements”, also, The influence of natural landfills  on the ecosystem  of Georgia on  adjoining  territory and on  human health.

In the framework of the project the meeting was aimed at introducing planned activities and the situation existing in Georgia from the point of waste management to the representatives of the local self-government.

The project-“Clean Georgia” is handled by the consortium of nongovernmental organizations: nature researchers union “Orqisi”. “Green movement of Georgia/earth friends-Georgia” and “enhancing ecological awareness and waste management” by financial provision of government of Sweden.
