population of Zugdidi will have a centralized sewerage system
The modern sewerage system is made in Zugdidi. Rehabilitation works are being implemented by the United Water Supply Company of Georgia .
The project envisages the rehabilitation of the amortized wastewater system of the entire city and arrangement of wastewater net up to 180 km. Goffered pipes of local (Georgian) production are used in the construction process.
Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Zurab Alavidze together with the Deputy Governor of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region David Kodua, director of the United Water Supply Company George Koberidze, Mayor of Zugdidi Lasha Gogia and representatives of local government inspected the ongoing works.
60% of Zugdidi population, due to absence of sewage system still can not use sewage system. After the completion of the works, the city will have a completely new infrastructure of sewerage system and local residents may solve the problems of living conditions that have been existed over the years.
The Asian Development Bank is financing the project up to 85 million GEL. The works will be completed by the end of 2020.
